Thanks for the lovely evening..........

The School prom was at the Shangrila Barr Al Jissah resort yesterday evening, after dropping the kids to the ballroom, hubby took me to a nice dinner at Al Tanour restaurant at the resort .

A quiet and lovely evening and the food was good and the music was so arabic and melodious.

As we were heading back to the car park, my daughter text me saying that she just won a lucky draw. She was so excited... at least she didn't came home empty handed. :P

Malaysian dinner buffet

photo taken by daughter's hand phone

An overdue photo of last week dinner at the Ramee Dream Resort at Seeb. We had a Malaysian night buffet and the chef is from Malaysia . It's very rare that we have a Malaysian cook here so we decided to have a go. I happened to read an advert and when I called to reserved..... the chef told me... there's only one table left. The journey was almost like 45 mins with the heavy traffic on a week night. The place was so remote and good things is that they have road lights or other wise we would turn back and head for city centre for dinner. The Malaysian buffet will be on a monthly basis depending on the crowd respond on that night.
Overall food was okay .

Memories of Gonu

6/6/2007 - Black Wednesday

Today...exactly a year after the devastated cyclone Gonu hits Oman. Many lost their homes and personal effect.

Families lost their loved one. Nature showed up an unpleasant side.

Buildings were ruined, roads and bridges collapsed, tress were uprooted. Cars were washed away and some lost their life inside the cars. The floodwater and the strong winds accompanied by heavy rains lashed the Sultanate .

Water supply and electricity were cut off in major area and some roads were not accessible by car.

The town near us was totally a ghost town for over 3 months.

We were out of water supply for few days or so and luckily there were water tankers on standby to supply water for us. A quick action from the PDO management.

Alhamdulillah the place where we stayed were not badly affected. Just trees uprooted!

But for some it was indescribable ..............
